art

I like any type of art. Anything could be art. Some people think that just paintings, sculptures, drawings and other things of that sort are the only things that are art. I personally think everything is art. Earlier this week in my English class we wrote about graffiti and I kind of wanted to expand on it. Last year my friend and I always drew tags (or words wrote in graffiti form) and tried to see who was better. He was a little better at it then me but I was still fun. I mainly did it because it was fun and I love to draw. I think part of the reason why some people do it on other people property and buildings, is because when you do it in the public then every body is going to see it. It’s like why would you want to do it on paper for only very few people see or where everybody could see it.

I like to draw mainly pencil sketches. I think my best drawing I have done is a flower that I drew for a friend. I was weird how good I came out considering that I did it in the dark only using the light from my phone. Lately I have been doing more like cartoon sketches then I use to. When I see someone else’s art work and I understand what there trying to say threw that piece I get all exited. I get the same feeling when I hear a song that I really like. I music is another way of expressing art. For the quick writes that we do in English class we do a lot about painting. I like trying to figure out what the painter was thinking as they were drawing the painting. I think we should do more quick writes about art work.

LA to mexico

A couple of years ago I went to New York for a cruise to the Bahamas which I wrote about in a past blog. But I also went to Las Angels to go on a cruise to Mexico. In this this trip I went with my mom and dad but I also went with my best friend and her brother and there parents. There basically like family to me. The plane ride to LA was crazy. The plane was the smallest I have even been in there was three seats in a isle and like 20 isles. My friend was trippin about going on the plane cause it was so small. Once we got to LA we went strait to the docking place where the cruise ship was. Just getting into the ship is such a hassle with the pass ports, bags, and the security. The ship that we were staying on way once the biggest ship that carnival ever had but that past month they built a new ship which stole ours ships spot. The theme of the ship was like the renaissance-ish. I don’t know how to describe it really. There was a lot of paintings every were.
The ship had 3 or 4 pools and A LOT of food. I think I gained twenty pounds in that week. Every night me and my friend would eat three or four ice cream cones each. I liked getting dressed up for dinners. And we had to do that a couple of times on the cruise. We took a lot of pictures on the cruise when we were at Mexico and on the ship. The cruise ship had a water slide, I didn’t ride it. I have no idea why. There was a mini golf course and a basket ball court and a volleyball court too. There was clubs for adults, 18 years and older clubs, clubs for my age and like day cares for younger kids. Being with my best friend on that trip was funny along with my family and hers was even better.

focus group

On this last Tuesday, December 1, my friend invited me and 3 others to do a focus group in San Francisco. For people that don’t know what a focus group is, it is like a survey for a company so they can do research and improve their company and what not. When we were at the place waiting to go in we were offered drinks and snacks. I had a Dr. pepper. One we were in side we were in a very open room with a bright colored stylish couch a table and a seat for the lady to talk to us. We were introduced to the lady that was interviewing us, and we sat down.

The main thing that they were interviewing us about was on ways that people communicate, mainly teenagers and adults. They asked us about how we would communicate, what would we do if face book stopped working, if texting would also stop. I would personally freak out if texting just stopped but I would live. Then the lady told us to write down the most common ways we us to communicate. I chose: texting, calling, face book, and myspace and aiming. (or AOL instant messaging) then the lady gave us various situations that we would need to communicate. Situations like: if we had something important to tell a friend, if we had to tell a relative something and other situations like that. Then she asked us why we chose it and what would be the next source we would use if we didn’t have the one we choose. We had to do a lot of explaining and analyzing when we had something to say. The weirdest part of the whole thing was when the lady told us that the mirror behind her was actually a one way mirror. When she told us we couldn’t stop looking at it. The best part of the whole thing was at the end each one of got $85 each. I would defiantly do it again.
