O.o

an old idea

Like a piece of paper where anything is possible. The things that we can think of is insane. Like think of the stuff that we cant think of. Compared to 100 or 200 years ago our minds have evolved. We are able to use the unimaginable ( computers tvs cars etc.) in our normal everyday life.
The Beatles said living is easywith eyes closed. Missunderstanding everything you see.Life is about perspective. If you see someone down the in the halls one day and there moving through the halls hella fast and bumping into people yiur gonna think that there a rude person. If you hear someone talkin about how much weed they smoked the other day and how they can whoop anyones ass your gonna be like this persons full of shit but then your oyher friend is gonna be like oh im hanging out withthis one kid that pertty cool and realize its that kid that you think is a peice of shit. You that your friendWould never hang out with him because of the way you seen them act before but thats just the perspective tht you saw od that peraon and your friends perspective that he saw of him. Its fucking hella complicated. This happens all the time though.

When your relaxed around your best friend and dont care and when your with people you dont really know, there perspective of you is diffrent. Just like one kid may know me as the pot head that comes to class stoned everyday but another kid may think that i'm quite and dont bug anybody and another may think that im the most anoyying kid in theyll ever meet. My mom may think that im alwaysMad and never want to talk and a friend may think im never mad and just chillin yhe whole time. You dont really have controll of what peoplethink of you, actually you have no power at all of what peiple think of you. So you might as well do what yoy want to do cuz there gonna talk no matter what. Damn. 5 5

INSANE

what if we found another planet in the universe that had humans and they have been living in the us as long as us. Both planet So the other plant's humans and and earths humans had to figure out weather to share eachothers technology and knowledge. And from sharing ideas technology went through the roof. But also a war broke out between this new planet and Earth. That would be INSANE. I dont even know what wuld happen.

monthly review: i know why the cage bird sings

Find out about the author. How did they end up writing this particular book? Is the author's true life reflected in the book in any way(s)?
If you've read other books by this same author, how does this one compare? (You don't need to decide which one is better, although you can.)

The novel, I Know Why the Cage Bird Sings, is about experiences in Maya Angelou’s own life that made her the person she is now. Maya Angelou grows up in Stamps, Arkansas, a town that is racist and was raised by her grandmother. She was a very intelligent girl who read a lot of book’s as a child. Maya tries hard to figure out about the adult world, and why people treat blacks so poorly. Her grandmother was very strict and religious. One experience and possible one that could have changed her life the most is when her father picks up Maya and her brother, bailey, to live with her mother in St. Louis. While she is there her mothers boyfriend, Mr. Freeman rapes Maya. Later on her mother finds out about it and mysteriously Mr. freeman dies. Maya thinks that it is her fault that Mr. freeman dies and becomes depressed. Maya and Bailey are sent back to Stamps, and that is when she meets Mrs. Flowers, who teaches her about writing. Writing started to be an escape for her later in her life because she was show the power of language and writing. The rest of the book she talks about more incidents both good and bad about her life.

Maya Angelou, is a racial right’s activist. She believes in equality, and in this book she writes about many different experiences that her and her family go through due to her being African American. I think the reason Maya wrote this book is because, her story is very inspiring. Since she is against racism this book is to help stop racism by showing what people went through, and how hard it was to be African American. Maya also mentions and refers back to her religious beliefs. Religion is one way Maya was able to keep her dignity through out these experiences. At sixteen Maya was faced with a new challenge, she had a child. This adds to the themes of this book. The themes to me are, self-discovery, motherhood, and family. The main reason of this book is to give hope to people, which sounds like something Maya would want her work to do for people. The book reflects her life in everyway. Her child hood and life is open to the public; having multiple books about her life. For Maya to write about her life in so much detail can be emotional, she writes in detail about when she was raped as a young child. That for some people is a very deep secret and hard to talk about. Her writing about this though, is like a message saying that it is okay to talk about these problems and that you cannot have it take over your life. I think that, that is a great message to send people because it can change your life for the better. In this quote said by Mrs. Flowers, she explains to Maya about how important language and writing is. "language is man's way of communicating with his fellow man and it is language alone that separates him from the lower animals." (pg. 95) This quote show why Maya might have wrote this book. Because of Mrs. Flowers empowering Maya to express emotions through her writing, she found a way to tell the world about these problems and that it is alright to actually tell people, so that you can help people so that they know that they are not the only ones going through all these problems. I think with out Mrs. Flowers teaching Maya about writing she might not have been a writer, but I don’t know her whole story. Maya did read a lot as a child so that could have been an influence to be a writer.

I have also read a letter to my daughter in 8th grade for my English class. That book is like a bunch of short scripts and poems put together. Maya in this book’s style is different then I know why the cage bird sings. Her style is very warming and loving. Its like she your mother, which is kind of the point of the title. Even though it is aimed towards women in a way, it is still a good book to read. It makes you feel like the book it’s self loves you, I don’t really know how to explain the feeling but it effects you like no other book has. If I had to choose one or the other I would have to say to read a letter to my daughter only because of the thoughts it leaves you with. But I’m not saying that I know why the cage bird sings is bad, I think if you had the time you should read both because it gives more of the full effect of her writing. In I know why the cage bird sings, Maya makes the book seem more like a memoir in a disguised as a story and letter to my daughter more like shared experiences. Both I feel like give the message of hope but a letter to my daughter give a bunch of messages all to feel an uplifting feeling. To be able to write an entire book and give the feeling that it gives you is incredible. I will say that she is one of my top authors, she has gone through so much and has so much to write about and does it in a way that effects you mentally unlike any other book. I most likely will not read anymore of her book, because they do not really catch my attention but I do think they are good books, it is just I prefer to read informational types of readings. Ill most likely end up reading another Maya Angelou book though.

favorite bands

My top five favorite band are: Arctic Monkeys, Vampire Weekend, The Wombats, The Kooks, and The Shins. I listen to a lot of Alternative Indie music, to be more specific new Brit alternative rock music. I really like the sound of the slight British accents mixed with an American style. All the lead singer in the bands that I listed except The Shins lead singer, James Mercer, all have a slight accent.

My fifth favorite band, The Shins, consists of lead singer/guitarist James Mercer, guitarists Dave Hernandez and Eric Johnson, drummer Joe Plummer, and bassist Ron Lewis. They are from New Mexico in 1997. There music is said to be influenced by Modest Mouse, another one of my favorite bands. The Shins have 3 recorded albums, Oh, Inverted World, Chutes Too Narrow, and Wincing the Night Away. My favorite songs from The Shins are: New slang, Sleep Lessons, Know Your Onion!, Australia, and much more. The Shins were nominated in 2008 for a Grammy Award for Best alternative music album. They have four labels, one including Cargo Records.

My Fourth favorite band The Kooks originated in Brighton, England. This band had more of an acoustic sound then the other bands that I talk about but also can be upbeat too. There music has a catchy rhythm to it, and Luke Pritchard, the lead singer’s voice is very distinct because of his strong accent. I think the reason I like the kooks is because it have a sort of arctic monkeys sound to it. The kooks signed there first record only three months after they started as a band. They have a label with Virgin Records and have two albums, inside in/inside out and Konk and working on there third album currently.

The Wombats are my third favorite band and originated in Liverpool, England. They released 2 albums that were only available in Japan. I’m not really sure all the band members names but I know that Matthew Murphy and Dan Haggis and two members of the Wombats. The wombats have one song called Lets dance to joy division which was released in 2007. The wombats met in a performing arts school in England in 2003. They have 2 record labels that I know of, one is 14th floor records and Roadrunner records. I have not heard one song of the wombats that I haven’t liked, bu ti haven’t heard all there songs.

Number two on my favorite bands list in Vampire weekend. They are an American Indie rock band from New York, New York. They got there name from a movie I think, but I’m not sure. There music style is like no other. I wish I could explain how they sound but it’s easier to just listen to there music. There best songs to me are: I stand corrected, taxi cab, cousins, and campus. My mom actually likes cousins, which is kind of weird. Vampire weekend only has two albums out, Contra and Vampire weekend.

My number one favorite band is the Arctic Monkeys. I have been obsessed with them ever since I found out about them. They have four members of the band, Alex turner, Nick O’Malley, Jamie Cook, and Matt Helders. There style cover everything that I like and some. They have a Ska background and an Indie rhythm. They are from Sheffield, England and formed in 2002. There isn’t one song that I have not heard from them off a recorded album, and know almost every word to every song. There most popular songs include Mardy bum, when the sun goes down, a certain romance, and Florescent adolescent, but if you listen to any other song it would be just as good. In just about every one of there songs they just jam really hard, even though there guitar parts are “easy” they some up with classic melodies. They were voted number one band that you should see live. I have not seen them live but with out a doubt will see them in the future. I wish I could right more about the arctic monkeys but im getting tired and about to go to bed.

Hope you enjoyed reading about my favorite bands and I hope this helped you find some new music to listen to.

LOVE

The rules for being a girlfriend or boyfriend to me would actually depend on you. Some guys hate it when the girl he likes just even talk to another guy and some guys can careless what she does. This can aply to both boys and girls by the way. But the main rule that im trying to say is that you should not cheat on your partner. I think that cheating is the worst thing you can do to another.

When going on dates the guy should be polite, for example he should pay for the date, he should open the door for her and ect. If someone were to break one of theses “unwriten” rules, the consiquence would most likely be a break up but for sure a fight. In a way it just depends on what you did or what rule your broke. You really should not lie to your girlfriend or boyfriend, it just makes things worst. One thing that really isnt a bad thing or a big deal but you shouldn’t say things that you don’t mean. Like for example if your girlfriend says they love you, you shouldn’t say I love you back unless you really do love them back.

I personally think that the guy should ask the girl out but again that’s just my opinion. It really shouldn’t matter who makes the first move because sometimes you can get really nervous and not be sure if the person likes you back. The last girl I liked she made the first move and everythings like that which was perfect lol, but it was kind of unfair. I think these rules were agreed upon by everybody. But I think these rules are different for everybody because everybody is different and have different oppionions. I think the way you act around the people you like might changed because you don’t want the person thinking bad about you wrong about you.

monthly book review: Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone

In the fictional novel, Harry Potter and The Sorcerer’s Stone, by J.K. Rowling a baby named Harry Potter was the only wizard to escape from a very evil wizard name Voldemort. Harry had to grow up with his aunt and uncle until he is old enough to go to Hogwarts, which is a magic school. But mean while Harry his aunt, uncle, and his cousin that treat him like Harry is worth nothing and makes Harry‘s live a living hell before until Harry can go to Hogwarts. Once Harry is old enough he goes to Hogwarts and Harry makes two good friends Hermione and Ron. Harry faces a life and death situation with Voldemort, this would have to be the second time that Harry has to face Voldemort in his life and the first time Voldemort killed Harry’s parents and left a scare on Harry’s forehead. Harry has to stop Voldemort from getting the sorcerer’s stone. Voldemort tries to tricks Harry to tell him where the stone is but Harry finds a way to stop Voldemort and save the stone.

Ron Weasley is one of Harry’s friend that he meet on the train to Hogwarts and is also his room mate. Ron is a very important person in the story because he helps Harry find the sorcerer’s stone and keep it safe. Ron is one of many children and does not have much money at all. But when it come to be Christmas time Ron’s family is able to send Ron and Harry Christmas presents. When Harry sees that he actually has Christmas presents he could not believe it. But one of the presents that Harry gets is not from Ron’s family its from Harry’s father that died when Harry was just a little boy. The present is a Cloak that turns invisible. Harry and Ron go down to the forbidden part of the library to learn about Voldemort. Ron also helps Harry at the end of the book by playing a game of wizards chess, which is like real chess but the pieces are actual size and if a puzzle piece gets captured the get smashed to pieces. In the game Ron sacrifices himself so Harry can go on and save the stone. For sure Harry could not have done what he did with out Ron. Ron is like a side kick to Harry threw out the series; he is always there for Harry and because of this Ron is in most of the action that goes on in the book.

J.K. Rowling uses a lot of symbols and in a way have complicated themes. I think this really makes reading more interesting and more fun to read. Symbols really makes you think about the book and because of that you really go into depth with the story and makes it more easier to understand what is going on. Some of the symbols that she uses are very easy to pick out but they do represent a lot. One symbol is the scare on Harry’s forehead. This was one of the first symbols that I saw and it connects the Harry’s past about his parents dying and Harry living. Another symbol that is very important in the book is the Mirror of Erised. In the mirror of Erised Harry sees he reflection and parents behind him. Later in the book the mirror tells him how to defeat Voldemort. J.K. also is very descriptive explaining things. She is able to paint this picture of wizards, witches, goblins, and all these mystical creatures in our minds. She comes up with this plot that could go on forever which I really like. Anything could some up at anytime which I pretty exciting. Even though her writing is very popular it is fun to read. J.K. uses a lot of themes in her writing. The themes that she uses are necessarily lessons but they are more like deeper examples of dealing with what needs to be done. Harry really goes out of his was to do something that he believes in. the things that he did could have got him in to very big trouble and he knew that but he still went out and did it. Which is one of the themes of the book. I think one of the reason’s why J.K. Rowling’s writing gets so much attention is because of ways of describing what is happening and because Harry Potter and his whole story is nothing like any other type of its kind.

I have also read Harry Potter and the Order of Phoenix while ago and I would have to say that one was better then the first book. I think that mainly because the fifth (the order of phoenix) book had more of a fantasy feeling then the first book. Since J.K. Rowling is very good and making a picture in you head of what is happening I like to read all of the action that happens through out the book and the fifth book as at least twice the action and mystery of the first book. Reading the first book felt weird because you heard so much talk about book and the movie then when you read it like 5 or 6 years later you already know what happens and almost everything about the book, or at least me and my group members did. Reading a book from the middle of the series with out reading any other book was at time a little confusing but this book was connected to the other books in the series but not in a way that you did not know that was going on. And that’s what I like about the series because you can read any book, I doesn’t have to be in order. I think for the future books that im going to read I want to see if I can get my other group members to read the other books in this series because they also enjoyed read this book.

schindlers list

a few weeks ago as a whole sophomore class we watched Schindler's List. the movie was very good. it all seemed so really, as if we were actually there. The actors really captured the emotions in the scenes. But some sence really stood more them others. One of them that stood out was when the German soldiers did the cleaning out of one of the ghettos. The German's would go into the ghetto take all the Jew's away from there home and make them keep all there stuff at home. Usually the Jews were taken to a concentration or killed, and the Jews knew that. in the scene the Jews were hiding in crazy places so they wouldn't be captured. One guy was hiding inside a piano, women and children were under the floor boards, another guy was under his bed, but like under the mattress. this scene really stood out to me because i could feel like that could still happen and does still happen in places today. The people that were taking the Jews were really cruel and to a point they have to be desensitized to kill all those Jews and then live there life normally. i cant even imagine doing that at all. Another scene that really stood out to me was the scene where the all the kids in the concentration we taken away in trucks. the kids had no idea what was gonna happen to them. all of them were excited and waving good bye to there parents. the sad part was the fact that all the parents knew what was gonna happen to them and they could not do anything about it. to know that was the last time you were gonna see you child must have been beyond heart breaking.

To me and probably a lot of other people think that Oskar Schindler is the most important person in the movie and in real life because he saved so many peoples lives but i think that Schindler could not have done what he did with out his assistance help. he's assistant organized everything that Schindler did to save the Jews lives .

At one point of the movie the guy that was running the concentration camp was just sitting at his balcony shooting random jews that were sitting around. to be able to do that without any remorse towards the poeople that your killing, you must really hate them. in someways that is not even human. That guy was really desensitized against violence and there was alot of those people controlling the jews.

There are many questions that the movie left me with. One question is what happened to Schindler after he left the factory at the end of the movie? Another question is, towards the middle of the movie there was a girl with a red sweater and she was the only girl throught the movie besides the end scene that was in color. why was that? and the last question i had was, when the germans were cleaning out the concentration camp they took away the children. i think they probably got taken away and killed but i really dont know what happened to them.

Reno

Over spring break my family and i went to Reno. I really like to take car rides and when i heard that we were going to Reno i got really excited. Towards the end of the car ride my dad pulled over to a rest stop and we played in the snow which was real fun. The scenery in the car ride was amazing to see. There was snow everywhere and fresh green trees. I have gone to Reno when i was younger with my grandparents but i don't remember that to much. When we arrived at Reno we went to Circus Circus. When i go on vacations my parents let me have a lot of freedom so i don't get to bored. At circus circus they have a huge midway, which is like a big arcade with games and you can win prizes. But this place had a huge area in the centre for circus performers to do there routine. The Circus Circus is connected to 2 other hotels, the silver legacy, and the Elderado. All of them have a lot of shops and restaurants. And every morning my parents and i went to a nice restaurant and had a nice breakfast, it was really nice to be with them.

One day my parents took me to see the bowling coliseum. which is this huge bowling alley that has two floors and like 80 lanes. there was this store there that had heck of bowling balls to buy, i never seen that many bowling balls in my life. it was insane. A lot of the time i was by myself on this trip. i was a real peaceful vacation. i walked around the hotel a lot mainly because there were a lot of beautiful lady's. when i was not looking at girls i was either eating at restaurants or jumping on the beds in our room. i think I'm a professional bed jumper now. sometimes i got extremely bored and was about to go crazy. i brought my Ipod which usually saves my life but i couldn't get Internet in the hotel. My dad brought the computer with us but i did not figure out how to connect to the Internet till the last few days. i also liked to sit at a bench and watch people walk by. usually people would walk by with giant stuffed animals that they won from the midway. one stuffed animal was so big that she kid couldn't even carry it. it was an enormous blue clown fish that was about 6 feel tall.

On the way home we stopped at this place called Boomtown. its sort of like this old western looking place with casinos and restaurants. We ate at Dennys, i love Dennys breakfasts. eating there made me happy. Then we headed home with a 4 hour drive to go. My dad is a very aggressive driver and drives like 20 or 30 mile per hour faster so we got home in like 3 hours. this vacation was pretty fun considering i was alone most of the time.

new goals and plans

In the past my goal were to be able to expand on my writing with more details and I think I have been able to get more ideas out. I am thinking more about the subject in dept more easily then usual. Now one of my problems is organizing the order I out down the ideas on my blog. Usually I go back and forth between ideas and it makes my writing sound messy. I think one way I can help fix this problem it maybe to make a small outline. I could jot down all the ideas the come to my mind then put then in order and groups before I start writing.

Last school quarter was I had a lot of problems with writers block. I went out of my comfort zone trying to write about things I usually don’t write about. In the first semester I wrote about all my vacations and trips I have been on. But I only have gone on so many vacations. Since I don’t really know what to write about I can start doing my blogs on the quick writes that we do in class. I have done a few of them in the past for my blog but I don’t really think it is as fun as writing about things I have done in the past. I have a lot of ideas that I would like to write about but I don’t think I can write a 500 word blog about it just yet. I have been writing down a few ideas but one of these days in going to sit down and really think about it and get some more ideas down.

My main goals for this next quarter is to be more consistent about writing my blogs. I have had such a problem with writers block I didn’t even write them. Along with actually doing my blog I have to find more subjects to write about. This will probably be the hardest part of my goals. Once I finally know I’m going to write about I have to learn to organize my thoughts. I figure if I can accomplish these goals I would have grown as a writer tremendously.

As of my goals for next school year, I really want to try and do better in school. I know I can do good in school because I always do good in the beginning of the school year then I lose motivation as the year goes on. Next year my classes will fit better to what I want to do and what I see more interesting. One class I am excited to take is psychology. I have always been interested in the way people act and why. When I first heard about there was going to be a psychology class I had no doubt that I wanted to take it. I have heard there was a lot of work in that class but I don’t really mind because it sounds really interested in this subject. Along with psychology I’m taking physics. I have taken a physics class that COA before and I loved it. Plus I really understand the materials so it will probably be an easy class for me.

FOOD/ comida

Eating food is a really good and delicious thing in life. I have always liked foods that taste really good and left me satisfied. I know that there are a lot of foods that I like that are really bad for me, like chips, cookies, and sodas, but I mean who does not like those things? They are so good. I have not ever had a problem with being fat or had any other health problems, and I eat healthy foods like apples a lot of the time. One of my favorite snacks that are healthy for you are “ants on a log”. Its HELLA good, its celery with peanut butter schmeared on top and then raisins stuck in the peanut butter. It has protein and vegetables so it is good for you. I have them almost everyday when I get home after school and they are not even that hard to make. It takes me like ttwo minutes to make like ten of them and that is an epic meal!

A lot of people in today’s world do not watch what they eat and its really bad for the health of the entire nation. Everyone just eats food like macdonalds and jack in the box without thinking about how it is going to change how they live later on in life. They just eat whatever the see and do even think about it. It’s a problem that is killing so many people in this world that we really need to start thinking about it. It will not be easy, I know that I will have trouble starting to turn my eating habits and general diet around but I know that if I do the payoff will be better than what I think it will be now. I will be around longer to see my kids have kids and be a more involved person in the world because I will be able to get up off my fat ass and actually do some work around the house, community, or at other places where things need to get done. Its not going to be easy but it is simple , there is a difference.

What I want to get from eating right is a life that I can be happy about and actually be able to play sports and run around when I am like thirty, forty, fifty, or even sixty. It’s a great feeling for me to know that I have been placed in a good place to live a health lifestyle, I live in a place where money is not the biggest worry and I have the choice to eat better if I want to. That is a lot more than people who live in some of the surrounding cities that can barely scrape by on the minimal and unhealthy life that they live. Because, lets face it, if you want to life healthier and longer in today’s world you must be willing to pay a little more here for a gym membership or here for fresh food at a farmers market. So that is why I choose to make it a goal of mine to eat better as a whole and take charge in what I am putting into my body.

time, space, and gravity.

From what i hear Issac Newton was sitting under a tree one day and an apple fell from the tree. He wondered why the apple went down not up or just floated there. So he started doing experiments to explain this. i do not really know what test he did but they were proven correct. later in 1915 Albert Einstein wanted to know why gravity happened. this theory was called the theory of relativity. basically what Albert was saying is that space is like a blanket, flat and spread out. For example the sun, is sitting on the blanket making a dip in the blanket and the our planets are going in circles around the sun using the decline. I think of it like the planets using the dip as like a bowl people skate in and they go around in circles. I do not know if that helps but it makes sense to me. I watched a TED video about space and from that it made me want to know more so i went to YouTube. that is where i learned about the theory of relativity.

Learning about the theory of relativity i also learned about the speed of light and time. the speed of light is a really interesting thing. If you had two space ships that went the speed of light and made one go half the speed of light and had the other one just stay there and turn on a really powerful flashlight. You would figure that the person in the space ship going half the speed of light would see the beam of light slowly go by but since the the speed of light is the same speed no matter what; the person would just see the light like any normal light turning on. One thing that was amazing to learn was that if you could go faster then the speed of light, then you start to go in to the future, or time travel. but the thing is, and im not really sure if i fully understand this but if you go faster then the speed of light then your mass gets bigger? i am not really sure if that right or even how to explain it. i will look that up and post a new blog about it and anything new that i learn. this are only some of the things that go on in space, time, and that stuff. there are so many things that go on in space that are really cool to learn about. its interesting to me to read this because it explains alot about how things work and why they happen.

HAWAII

I have been to Hawaii with my family many times. Probably about 7 or 8 times we haven’t gone lately because it has been really expensive. The most fun part of going to Hawaii to me is the weather. The weather in Hawaii just makes you want to be happy, even when it rains the water is warm. The environment in Hawaii feels like everybody is in a good mood. I love walking on the beach when the sand is way to hot and you can barely stand on it. Snorkeling in Hawaii is an amazing thing to do. There are so many colorful fish in all different shapes and sizes. One time my dad took the left over bread that we had from the night before and went out snorkeling. I didn’t know what was going to happen. Then my dad gave me the bread to feed to the fish and right when I pulled out the bread a swarm of fish surrounded me. It was insane but it was a sight to see. The hotels in Hawaii or at least the ones that I have stayed at really make you feel like you are at home, which I really like. When I am older I would really like to move to Hawaii, maybe go to college there. If I can’t move there then I will for sure go back and visit. I have not been to all the islands but I have been to most. I would say my favorite island would have to Maui. Maui has such beautiful scenery’s. I can remember along time ago my parents and I went on a hike. There was this tree that was HUGE. It looked like the trunk of the tree was made out of giant vines. I think on this hike we went to go see a water fall. But I might be getting confused with another hike I went on. But the waterfall that I am thinking of seems like it was straight out of a movie; it was so amazing to be there and see. On the end of the hike we went down this hill that had so many guava trees. And they were very delicious too. One of the coolest parts of being in Hawaii is seeing all the geckos running around.

crusie to the bahamas part one

About 5 or 6 years ago my parents and I went on a cruise around the Bahamas. We ported out from New York which I have talked about in an earlier blog. I remember pulling up to the place where we were docking and seeing the biggest cruise ship I have ever seen. My mom told me that I was the biggest cruise ship that carnival has until recently they built a new bigger one. To get your baggage and to show your pass port and all that good stuff takes hours to be done. That to me is the worst part of the trip. By the time we get on the ship we only have like 30 minutes till we have to do this thing called mustard. Which is like a thing were they show what to do if something wrong happens on the ship and that also takes about an hour.

After that you can do what ever you want on the ship. That is my favorite part of cruises. It is like having so much freedom; you can eat a nice meal at anytime and do anything on the ship at any time. Being on the ship is like being on a boat that has a little city on it. And there is so much that you can do on the cruise too. In the beginnings of when you are on the ship you get lost real easily and on this cruise ship i was lost for almost an hour. I finally found the front deck to ask how to get back.

One of the fun things to do on the ship was to get dressed up for dinner and having a fancy dinner every night if you wanted one. On this cruise we had the same waiter every night he was really nice. Him and my dad use to joke a lot it was cool. And through out the there were a lot of show that you can watch through out the day like magic show, music and theatre shows, and comedy shows. I like the comedy ones the most because I love to watch comedy acts. The magic shows are pretty fun too. On this cruise ship they had a huge art gallery that had amazing pictures in it I really enjoyed walking through it. This cruise ship had three or four pools on it and a water slide. on the top floor it had a huge club for kids just to hanging out and next to it a smaller like dance club, which was still pretty big, for older people. One of the bad things about the trip is that it feels like it goes by to fast. I am always sad about going home because ill miss being on the cruise. Going on cruises are probably the most fun trips I have been on. On the next blog ill talk about the islands that we went to on the cruise. This trip was a very memorable vacation to go on with my family.

skateboarding 101

I have been skating for about four or five years now. Late I have not been going out to skate because the group of friends that I have been hanging out with kind of stopped skating, but I still love it. The first time I have ever got on to a skateboard I was at my cousin’s house. He had a skateboard in the garage and I went out side with it. At that time he had just began to skate too but he was able to Ollie. Within the first day I was able to Ollie. Since then I have not got off a board. My first board was a cheap big five board because I had no clue about anything to deal with skating. It is weird going to the skate park now looking at all the little kids skating. When you first go to the skate park you don’t really know anything like, you don’t know to stay out of people’s lines and to watch out for other people.

Watching other people’s skate videos is a big part of skating if you want to improve. Watching a good skate video can give you motivation to go out and skate. When I first started skating I only knew the famous people that skate like tony hawk Rodney Mullen and so on, but now I think I watched almost every video on Youtube about skating and I know about every skate team.

I remember trying to Ollie my first 4 stair which is easy now but then I was pretty scared. All my friends were like come on you can do it. And that’s what I like about skating, that it all up to you. You have complete control for what you are doing. And you always have your friend there to back you up. *<]:')

100 things to do

Since watching this television show on Mtv called The Buried Life, I have been thinking about what I want to do with my life. This show is about these 5 guys that made a list of 100 things to do before they die. So far in this season they have snuck into the playboy mansion and partied with celebrities. The last episode they snuck on to the premiere of transformers 2 and tried to ask out Megan Fox. Seeing these guys do this it is pretty inspiring. I started thinking things I want to in my life time.
One thing I want to do before I die is go sky diving. I always had a dream of flying and sky diving i the closest thing to that. Another thing that I want to before I die us to make someone's dreams come true.

finalblogpost

1) Where do you get your ideas for blog post topics? What inspires you to write?

Well, in most of my blogs I write about the vacations I take with my friends and family. The reason it is easier for me to write about my past experiences is because I was actually there. When I have to write essays or other types of writing that I don’t really know what happened, I into more of a writer block. Knowing what really happened and everything that happened I can explain more about the story.

On these travels that I take I learn about my family, and that it is important be with your family. Seeing these sites and monuments with my family make it more enjoyable, because you are with the people you love. Through blogs I can share the experiences and the memories with other people. I really like reading about other people vacations and trips that they took. Some of the blogs I read, it feels like I am actually there. I have wanted to try to get that feeling in my blog too because it made it very interesting to read. The blog that I read was very moving all because it the person made it seem like I was there in person. But I am not that good of a writer yet to capture that feeling. With practice and time I’m sure I can become a better writer. Writing is a way to express feeling that you have in your head. Writing blogs is a chance to say what you have to say about any topic; I think that’s why I have grown to like blogging. Blogs let your ideas be heard by people that want to hear what you say.

2) How do you like having a blog? How has blogging changed the way you write, the way you think, or the way you think about writing?

Having a blog was better then I thought it was going to be. When I first found out that we had to write a blog every week I was kind of irritated that I had to do it every week. Once I started to blog I realized that it was pretty fun. Soon I really did not mind at all doing my blog. Now that I write a lot writing’s become a bit easier. More ideas have came to me faster and easier. The more I write the more it would be easier to get around writers block. Writers block has been a bigger and bigger deal as the school year goes on. Trying to get around writers block has changed the way I write in a good way. I have learned to spread out my ideas and expand on what the subject is. This was one of my goals in the beginning of the year that I wanted to accomplish.

My thoughts on writing have change greatly since the beginning of the year. By the end of my sophomore year I think I would probably continue blogging for fun. For one of my blogs I wrote about what was happening in Japan and its government. Usually when I have to right about politics I tend to get bored with the topic and my writing is not the best. But blogging give you a lot of freedom and it was easier to talk about the subject. I think I am going to write more about politic now because I to see other people’s opinions and the same topic. Thought using blogger I have become better at editing other people’s posts. I like reading other peoples blogs and try to help making it better. I am excited to start this group thing in class. The group thing in class would also help me get new ideas what to blog about.

3) What have you learned from your struggles with writer's block? Why do you tend to get stuck? How do you tend to get unstuck? Notice any patterns?

Before when I got stuck with writers block it was really hard to get unstuck. But now from writing more often I have learned ways to get around it. I have learned to expand on the details about the subject. Before, I would just kind of tell the main idea and a couple of details and not really explain what is going on. Now it comes naturally explain. This might have not been the reason for the three hundred word minimum but it helped me because if I was not at the word amount I did not get the credit; so I had to learn to write more. Recently I have been writing more and more then I use to. In the beginning of the year I barely made three hundred words but now I am writing over three hundred words easily.

I usually get writers block when I do not really know much about the subject I am talking about. Now I know that if I want to do well on a piece of writing I should do a lot of research on the topic.

In class we do the quick writes and its non-stop writing it helps to just keep writing even if you get stuck, like to write down what you are thinking as your writing. I am not really sure why it helps but I do it when ever I get stuck with any kind of writing.
Another way I get unstuck with writers block is when I am writing about multiple subjects like this blog post. I am answering three questions in one post; when ever I get stuck I just move to a different question and keep moving. So far I have not got writers block and I am towards the end. The group discussions in class about our blogs would help a great amount in getting past writers block. Talking to other people allows you to get different ideas that you would not think of.

Las Vegas

For the first week of break my Mom and Dad took me and my friend to Las Vegas. I think the day before going on the trip was the most excited I have been to go on a vacation. The drive to Las Vegas was about ten hours long, but the way my dad drives we were there a couple hours early. When we got to Las Vegas we went to our hotel. We stayed at the Mandalay Bay Hotel. The hotel was at the end of the strip, it was cool because we were right next to the Luxor Hotel. That’s the one that’s a pyramid and at the top it has a bright light that you can see from space. When I go on trips with my parents they let me have a lot of freedom so my friend and I were out on the strip at like 3 in the morning it was pretty fun.

We ate at a lot of buffets; huge ones. The nicest one we ate at was at the Rio Hotel. It had like lobster that was actually and it had huge pieces of steak that was all you could eat. While we were at Las Vegas we went to watch Cirque Du Soleil’s KA. It was all about defying gravity. It wasn’t the best Cirque Du Soleil I’ve seen but it was still good.

Towards the end my friend and I were starting to get bored so we rode on those moving walk ways there was like 4 really long ones in a row. We would run as fast as we could and try to race. A lot of the time my friend and I were really tired during the day so we slept all day. Our hotel room was huge. It had different rooms and it had two bathrooms. And there was a flat screen television in one of the bathrooms. The trip was a lot of fun, and I had a good time.
